The Rohner Sensor – the heart of intelligent plant care

The Rohner Sensor is the central element of our complete system and enables fully automated plant care at the highest level. It continuously and site-specifically measures all relevant parameters such as humidity, temperature, pH value, EC and nutrient content, and ensures that irrigation and fertilisation are precisely matched to the needs of the plants.

Thanks to this precise, sensor-based control, water consumption can be reduced by up to 60 % compared with conventional and commonly available irrigation systems, while plant losses are reduced to an absolute minimum. At the same time, all data is continuously and automatically evaluated. In the event of any deviation, the operator immediately receives a warning signal, so that action can be taken at an early stage, before damage to the planting occurs.

The sensor works all year round, around the clock and in all weather conditions. Even during the winter months, when evergreen plants in particular are at risk from a lack of water, the system ensures maximum safety and control. As soon as the plants need water, a warning signal is automatically triggered so that action can be taken in good time. This prevents plants from drying out over the winter months. The plants can thus sprout in spring healthy and strong, without the need for a costly plant replacement.

The result is a self-regulating, intelligent ecosystem with sustainable function and long-term behaviour. The maintenance effort is reduced to a minimum. As a rule, upkeep is limited to the annual pruning of the plants. This not only significantly reduces ongoing costs, but also the workload over the years.

Considered over a period of ten years, the system leads to significant savings in water, maintenance and operating costs, while at the same time offering maximum plant safety.
